Pop Culture...

The words spoken in this video could not be truer. The ways of the pop stars of today are disgusting and not of the Lord. The problem here? Not many people take the time to really ponder the actions of the those in the spotlight. Why is it completely acceptable for them to squander their lives away in a manner of parties and irresponsible choices?
The message that is being sent to the youth of this day is not a good one. The ideas that are being implanted into their minds is not what will eventually set them on the right path one day, whether they know it or not.
Keeping a pure heart is not easy. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.' What we put into our minds plays a pivotal role in what kind of life we live. Choose today to fill your life with the Lord and witness the kind of change you see!

Courage

Ever notice how easy it is to just say you're going to do something? Do you ever tell yourself that you're finally going to talk to the boy, or stick for yourself, only to back down in the last minute? Well let me tell you, you are not alone. I have found over the years that I am a big dreamer, and occasionally, a big coward...
Courage is such a broad term. It can be defined in numerous ways. Look it up in the dictionary and you'll find the definition, 'the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc. without fear.' Don't get me wrong that's great, but I think that courage is so much more than that.
To me, courage is putting all of your worries, and fears, and anxieties into the hands of God and relying on him to help you through. It's no easy task! I struggle daily with trusting God to work things out for me. We, as the defiant humans we are, try to take matters into our own hands and handle our own situations. The true test is placing our battles at the feet of the Lord and letting him lead us wherever we need to go.
Deuteronomy 31:6 says, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.' Trust God today with your anxieties, and see where he leads you.
